Top beaches in Sardinia, ideal for your summer vacation

Beaches of Chia

The closest beach to town to Chia is a beautiful beach Spiaggia di Chia which is connected to the beach Spiaggia di Sa Colonia. If you’re lucky, you catch a glimpse of dolphins in the sea and on the lake flamingos. Chia is also an excellent spot for surfers because the winds are always flowing in the right direction. On the tiny island Giudeu Su, which  is from the beach in sight, you can easily wade across the bay.Another great beach is Baia Chia with its beautiful sand, and crystal water is almost as perfect as  Caribbean beaches. The bay is bordered by majestic, age-old junipers and a few stone traces of the Phoenician city of Bithia whose site Baia Chia now occupies.

Beaches of Costa Rei

This part of coast is famous for its crystal clear water, golden sands and long beaches. It also has a lake system that forms a nature reserve for rare avian species. Costa Rei is bordered by the bays of Sant” Elmo to the south, and to the north by Capo Ferrato. In the summer months the town comes alive with many visitors and offers everything what the visitor might  needs during the summer holiday. Many shops, bars and restaurants and greatnightlife  well.

Costa Smeralda

The “Emerald Coast” is not only widely celebrated as a playground for the rich and famous, but also for its unrivalled beaches and secluded coves. Sardinia’s northern Costa Smeralda is 55 kilometres long and features 80 bays with pinkish white swimming beaches. Away from Porto Rotondo north you will find beaches  Cala Petra Ruja, Cala Liscia Ruja and later also beach of Cala di Volpe. If you are there do not miss the beautiful cape Capricciolli a small, charming bays ,cliffs, tiny beaches, sand dunes and of course the clear emerald sea.

30 kilometers southeast of Cagliari amidst a fascinating landscape of unspoiled sand dunes, aquamarine inlets and strange rock formations lies Geremeas. There are  two long sandy beaches, Spiaggia Geremeas and Spiaggia Cannesisa, are framed by a coastline of unparalleled beauty. Another great  beach is  Mari Pintau find very fine white sand,  and small pebbles. The local waters are very interesting for lovers of diving and fishing. During the low season there is allowed nudism as well. Thera are only couple of bar and restaurant, and if you want you can rent beach umbrellas, deck chairs and pedal boats.

San Teodoro  beaches, Sardinia

San Teodoro is a popular tourist resort in the southern part of Costa Smeralda. The San Teodoro, with its 14 beaches across 37 km of coastline ideal for a holiday full of relaxation, adventure and fun. There are many activities such as snorkeling, diving, surfing, hiking or bird watching. At present it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sardinia with excellent access to the airport or to the port of Olbia (about 30 km).La Cinta beach is Sardinia’s is one of the best, longest and widest beach and boasts with the silkiest sand on the island.

Located in the southern part of Costa Rei, the elongated sandy beach of Sant Elmo is representing with picturesque rocky and sandy bays where surrealistically sculptural rock formations make for fanciful musings. Elmo Beach is a beautiful bay with fine white sands and stunning cliffs smoothed by time. Cala Marina is also known as a beach of San Pietro, surrounded by dense Mediterranean vegetation and fascinating rock formations that illustrate the scenery and beautify coast.
Santa Giusta beach stretches more than 1 kilometer. It is a beach with gritty sand, enriched by the presence of beautiful smoothed cliffs framing the landscape. The area is guarded by the famous cliff Peppino, a special projection in the form of a turtle. It’s definitely one of the most famous sites of the region.
